Candles, Cranberries, and Magic Ice

Vase filled with cranberries, greenery, water, and plastic wrap to look like ice

Candles, Cranberries, and Magic Ice is a fun project that can take just a little bit of time but the beautiful results are worth it.

Vase, candle with holder, fresh cranberries, greenery, and Saran Wrap for Candles, Cranberries, and Magic Ice

The supplies you need are:

  • Large vase
  • Candle with holder
  • Fresh cranberries
  • Fresh greenery
  • Long skewer or chop stick
  • Plastic wrap
  • Water

Place the candle holder inside the large vase.

Placing greenery into the vase

Carefully begin filling with greenery in the space outside the candle holder. This is when I like to use a skewer or chopstick for assistance.

Adding cranberries to the greenery in the vase

Add cranberries.

Crumpling plastic wrap to fit into the vase

When you are ready to add an ice layer, crumple a strip of plastic wrap.

Begin pushing into the area above the greenery and cranberries.

Add more saran wrap if you would like a thick layer of ice.

Pouring water over the greenery, cranberries, and plastic wrap

Slowly add water until you get almost to the top. My inner cylinder for the candle started floating a bit, but settled down after I finished pouring the water in.

This is the way I layered it the first time.

Then I completely redid it and this was my second version. There are no rules. Just enjoy your own creativity!
